Ghost Leviathans? These are the kings of dummies - even if they try to ram you they will 100% miss, can swim next to them without any worries. Reaper Leviathans? Haven't seen one in this run. Crashfish - the devil himself emerging from the SAFE shallowsīeing 100% of time on your seaglide lets you evade literally everything (maybe but the Sea Dragon).Sea Dragon - he can swallow you in one bite, usually he deals a lot of damage.Running out of oxygen (duh) - had 2 close calls with screen blacking out (I ate my bioreactor fuel), especially after they fixed the no-warnings in hardcore.

Once you unlock the arch in the Thermal Plant it's a cakewalk. Other bases were my main in the safe shallows, one (just to flex) in the Sea Emperor tank and one in the Sparse Reef for convenience. It went like that: Deep Grand Reef Entrance - Lost River Entrance - Lost River Sea Dragon Skelly - ILZ Entrance - Lava Castle. 8 bases total but you can easily do it with 6 or even less.

To beat this challenge I was using a chain of bases starting by the Deep Grand Reef entrance and going all the way to the Lava Castle. I even made myself a nice base with alien containment tanks and stuff and fixed Aurora which is optional. The ability to completely ignore vehicle upgrades and not having to maneuver Cyclops into the Lost River and beyond saves a lot of time. I wasn't even going for a speed run of some sort. It took me 11 hours to finish this run and my regular hardcore took 15 hours. It's not that difficult really although not having your Seamoth, Cyclops or the god-like Prawn makes you an easy threat and.

It puts the game in a completely different perspective and forces a new play style. I highly recommend anyone trying out this challenge whether it is on hardcore or on survival. What a strange, *not so* long trip it's been. I did it after disabling the gun and having 4/5 of the Neptune** **DISCLAIMER: Yes, you have to build Cyclops to finish the Neptune rocket to win the game.
